LSFMC own, and are responsible for maintaining, the public open space within the village. Residents pay an annual maintenance fee to them for this purpose. A number of residents have expressed concern at the level of this charge and questioned  whether it is value for money. Stanion Parish Council (before the establishment of Little Stanion Parish Council) paid for a solicitor’s advice to establish the legality of the Deed of Covenant residents are required to sign.  The Deed of Covenant sets out the schedule of services which LSFMC must provide in return for the annual management fee paid by residents.

The legal advvice is that there is “nothing inherently wrong with the  Deed of Covenant” and the maintenance charge is “modest”.
